In short I'll never touch another game from them again. I did finally get a refund from them but even that was an utter nightmware. Then after being told to wait so they could issue a refund 2 weeks later they just closed the case. I opened a case with support and after 2 months without a single suggestion (just asked questions that I had already answered by sharing the *extensive* thread/details that I had tried. ![]() The thread I opened about this went 9 pages long and I tried something like 50 different things to try to fix it including installing Windows clean on an SSD and only having a single monitor (at 720p), network, keyboard and mouse and still horrible stutter. In short no matter what I do or try it will not play smoothly. While I appreciate the suggestion I went through hell with DCS. Elite Dangerous and DCS are my two favorite VR games. Originally posted by nickelfloor:If interested, the free version of DCS World has very good native Vive/Rift support. I will take your advice and definately check out elite and dangerous also, thanks ![]() I have only played FSX and a small handful of games in VR so my opinion is fairly limited. Not to the extreme of "is this the real world or was that" but definitely to a very small extent. The first night I spent about 4 hours in my Rift when I turned it off and headed to my bedroom I felt very funky. If you like flight and space sims/games you should absolutely give it a try, truly incredible in VR and game for that matter. Like I said I haven't tried FSX but I just have to think Elite would give it a run for its money as it's had native VR support for every generation of the Rift and they give a lot of attention to VR. So far for me it's the best VR experience I've had, far above everything else I've tried. While I've not played FSX with Fly Inside and can't really compare I play Elite Dangerous with mine, have about 700 hours in Elite all in VR. The Live Weather feature was updated too.Originally posted by Exigeous:Thanks for the thoughts - I know exactly what you mean about feeling odd from the game world. You can also expect to see snow and ice, in general. They’ve been done up with festive lights. If you’re up for the challenge, there are a dozen “iconic landmarks” to track down. There’s also a holiday scavenger hunt tucked away in today’s update. If needed, you can try and increase your performance with the Render Scale setting – that “has the greatest impact on framerate.” “When you switch between the two modes the sim dynamically switches settings, which may briefly impact its performance,” according to Asobo Studio. ![]() It’s worth stressing that motion controllers currently are not supported – a fact that’s bound to bum out VR enthusiasts – and Microsoft Flight Simulator has a graphics setting for desktop and for VR. Here’s what the VR mode looks like in broad strokes: “All OpenXR-compliant headsets” are supported with this free update – look in the VR options menu to get started. The VR test period is over, and the update is ready: you can now fly with VR in Microsoft Flight Simulator if you have an Oculus, Vive, Valve Index, or Windows Mixed Reality headset. The bad news: VR motion controllers aren’t supportedĪ beefed-up PC with a comfy VR setup and Microsoft Flight Simulator sounds like a dream right now.
